The mid heel is the one that gets worn. High enough to change the line of a dress, low enough to last from a morning meeting to a late dinner. Mollini cuts them in leather, suede and patent across the heels collection.
A mid heel sits at roughly five to seven centimetres, which is the range where a shoe stops being a decision. Your weight stays shared between heel and forefoot, so the foot never locks into the forward pitch that makes a taller heel a two-hour proposition. You get the lift and the leg line and you keep the day. Shape sets the mood from there. Block heels read solid and modern and handle a footpath without flinching. A slim heel at the same height is the dressier read, and asks a little more of the ankle. For work, a closed-toe mid heel in black or tan leather is the quiet workhorse of a wardrobe. Pumps are the purest version, cut low at the vamp so the foot looks longer than it is. For everything else, an open toe in suede or a woven upper loosens the formality without dropping you to a flat. Neutrals carry the most, though burgundy and chocolate are the shades that make a plain outfit look considered, and both sit more easily with the rest of a wardrobe than they sound. A: Mid heels generally measure between five and seven centimetres at the back. Below that range a shoe is usually described as a low heel, and above it the pitch becomes steep enough to count as a high heel. A: Many find them the most wearable height, since the foot stays closer to level than in a high heel. Comfort still depends on width, footbed cushioning and heel shape, with a block heel generally easier than a slim one. A: Yes, and this is the height most often chosen for it. A closed-toe leather style in a neutral shade suits most office dress codes and moves into evening without a change of shoes. A: The foot should sit flat without pressure along the sides, and the heel should stay in place when you walk. Leather and suede both give a little with wear, so a snug fit at first is usually correct, while patent gives less. The height that does not make you choose
